DNO G98 notification

G98 notification and follow up to your DNO. We'll ask you for details of your inverter & MPAN number and make the notification on your behalf.

You will receive a letter from the DNO confirming your G98 application and connection. You will need to provide this to Octopus to get set up with their export tariffs.

Every home and business in the UK has the right to connect up to 3.68 kW (AC) to the grid, without needing permission. For more than 3.68kW, you''ll need to do a G99 application, available here.

You'll need to send a G98 notification to your District Network Operator (DNO) within 28 days with some details of your installation to let them know that there is a connection at your property. 

Please note: The 3.68kW relates to the AC output of the inverter, not the DC input of the solar panels. It's possible to have 11kW of solar capacity connected to a good 3.6 kW inverter, you are still only connecting 3.6 kW to the grid.
